The fifth-generation Lockheed Martin F-35 multi-role combat aircraft was created as part of the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program. One of the three constructed variants is the F-35B short takeoff and vertical landing aircraft - the world's first (and so far the only) supersonic powered-lift aircraft built using stealth techniques.
